Joseph SACO and Mary DUNCAN family

Joseph Saco was born about 1825 in Mecklenberg. He was married to Mary Duncan. Mary was born about 1832 in Mecklenberg.

The family is not found in the 1860 census although their first child is born in Lucas County, Ohio in 1859. In 1870, the family is living in Whiteford, Monroe County, Michigan under the surname Sukel.

Joseph died before 1880. Mary is found living in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio in the 1880 census with 3 of their children.

Mary died on 21 May 1889 in Toledo.

Joseph and Mary had 6 children:

  1. John Saco (27 Jul 1859 – 12 Jul 1916) married Wilhelmina Voigt (30 Sep 1858 – 13 Jan 1925).
  2. Charles H Saco (18 Nov 1859 or 1861 – 18 Feb 1916) married Sophia Martin (28 Jan 1860 – 1941).
  3. Henry Saco (Feb 1864 – ?) married Ollie (Oct 1863 – ?).
  4. William Saco (12 Feb 1866 – 30 Nov 1935).
  5. George Saco (16 Aug 1868 – 9 Dec 1944) married Catherine Donnelly (Dec 1868 – ?)
  6. Lena Saco (1 Jul 1871 – 29 Dec 1958) married John Martin (16 Apr 1865 – 25 Jun 1937).

Charles SACO and Sophia MARTIN family

Charles SACO was born 18 November 1859 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He was the son of Joseph SACO and Mary DUNCAN.

Charles married Sophia MARTIN on 9 July 1885 in Lucas County, Ohio.

Sophia MARTIN was born 28 January 1860 in Ohio. She was the daughter of John MARTIN and Sophia BOLTON.

Charles died on 18 February 1916 in Toledo. Sophia died 1 August 1941 in Toledo. They were both buried in Forest Cemetery in Toledo.

They had three daughters:

  1. Mabel E SACO (24 Apr 1886 – 13 May 1909).
  2. Ruth SACO (18 Apr 1889 – 5 Jan 1977) married John LYONS on 13 Jun 1910 in Lucas County, Ohio. They divorced and were remarried on 9 July 1919 in Monroe, Michigan. They divorced a second time.
  3. Mary M SACO (Dec 1893 – ?) married Ross G ROBINSON or ROBISON on 6 February 1915 in Monroe, Michigan. They divorced by 1920 and no record has been found of Mary after her marriage.

    Clarence Orville DIENST and Agnes Lucille BLAIR marriage

    Clarence Orville DIENST and Agnes Lucille BLAIR were married in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio on 27 October 1917.

    John LYONS and Ruth SACO 1919 Marriage

    John LYONS and Ruth SACO were first married in 1910 in Lucas County, Ohio. They divorced, but were remarried on 9 July 1919 in Monroe County, Michigan.

    They divorced again by 1930.

    John LYONS and Ruth SACO family

    John Lyons was born 22 September 1890 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He was the son of Jacob Z LYONS and Lorinda PARTEE.

    John married Ruth SACO on 13 June 1910 in Lucas County, Ohio.

    Ruth SACO was the daughter of Charles H SACO and Sophia MARTIN. She was born 18 April 1889 in St. Mary’s, Auglaize County, Ohio.

    By 1914, Ruth was living with her parents and John was not found in the Toledo city directories. John and Ruth had apparently divorced, because on 9 July 1919, they were remarried in Monroe County, Michigan.

    John served in World War I.

    Ruth and John had divorced a second time by 1930. In the 1930 census, John was living with his mother in Adam Township, Lucas County, Ohio and Ruth was living with their children in Toledo.

    John married Susie Agnes SLATER. They had one child. He lived in Delta, Fulton County, Ohio during his later life. He died there on 28 March 1968 and was buried in Lyons Cemetery (no known link between the cemetery and the Lyons family) in Fulton County.

    Ruth lived in Toledo for the rest of her life. She died on 5 January 1977.

    John LYONS and Ruth SACO had two children:

    1. George Bruce LYONS (29 Jan 1911 – 30 November 2006)
    2. James M LYONS
