Thomas WATKINS and Susannah MILLER family

Thomas WATKINS was born 2 February 1782 in Delaware. On 13 October 1808, he married Susannah MILLER in Jefferson County, Ohio. Susannah was born 4 April 1791 in Pennsylvania. They had at least 10 children together. They lived in Wayne County and then Hancock County, Ohio. Thomas died on 19 August 1858. Susannah died on 17 March 1872. They were both buried in Clymer Cemetery in Union Township, Hancock County, Ohio.

Their children were:

Abraham WATKINS. He married Lydia STEEL on 28 October 1830 in Hancock County, Ohio. He died before 1842.

Sarah WATKINS was born 18 July 1811. She married Thomas DEWESE on 26 October 1830 in Wayne County. Then she married Levi SHOWALTER on 15 April 1858. She died on 31 August 1881 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

James WATKINS was born 3 August 1813. He married Elizabeth NORTON on 1 November 1838 in Wayne County. He died 17 August 1873 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Catherine WATKINS was born about 1816. She married John M WEST. She died 15 January 1887 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Robert WATKINS was born 6 December 1820. He married Susanna SHOWALTER on 26 May 1842 in Hancock County. Second, he married Mary Ann BENNER on 2 October 1857 in Hancock County. He died 21 February 1907 in Bluffton, Allen County, Ohio and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Mary WATKINS was born 27 January 1823. She married Jonathan S GUIN on 31 October 1842 in Hancock County. She died on 25 December 1889 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Rachel WATKINS was born about 1825. She married Christopher FULK on 4 April 1844 in Hancock County.

Susannah WATKINS was born 20 August 1830. She married Richard SHOWALTER on 1 January 1852 in Hancock County. She died on 1 May 1891 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Isaac WATKINS was born about 1833. He married Esther CORWIN on 5 January 1854 in Hancock County. He died on 5 August 1895 in Reed City. Osceola County, Michigan.

Isaiah WATKINS was born 7 March 1835. He married Mary J FALK on 9 January 1862 in Hancock County. He died on 28 May 1867 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Levi Showalter married Sarah WATKINS, the widow of Thomas DEWESE on 15 April 1858 in Hancock County.

Thomas DEWESE and Sarah WATKINS family

Thomas DEWESE was born 4 Mary 1809 in Pennsylvania. On 26 October 1830 he married Sarah WATKINS in Wayne County, Ohio. Sarah was born 18 July 1811 in Ohio to Thomas WATKINS and Susannah MILLER.

Thomas and Sarah moved to Hancock County, Ohio in 1836. In 1841, Thomas was a Justice of the Peace.

On 13 April 1853, Thomas died. His widow, Sarah, married Levi Showalter on 15 April 1858 in Hancock County. She died on 31 March 1881 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery in Union Township, Hancock County, Ohio.

Thomas and Sarah had 9 children of which only 2 survived childhood:

Mary A DEWESE was born 12 February 1833. She died 21 March 1841. She was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Flavius DEWESE was born 17 January 1835 in Wayne County, Ohio. He married his stepsister, Susannah SHOWALTER, on 1 January 1860 in Hancock County. He died 17 July 1911 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

Susannah DEWESE was born 25 May 1837 and died 20 May 1843. She was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Thomas DEWESE was born 21 June 1839 and died 2 January 1840. He was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Eve DEWESE was born 30 August 1843. She married John BOOKMILLER on 27 October 1861 in Hancock County, Ohio. She died 8 November 1882 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio.

Elizabeth DEWESE was born 26 December 1845. She died 20 June 1846 and was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Adam DEWESE was Elizabeth’s twin brother. He was born 26 December 1845 and died 17 June 1846. He was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Sarah J DEWESE was born about 1847. She was buried in Clymer Cemetery.

Francis M DEWESE was born about 1850. He was buried in Clymer Cemetery.
