Thomas S COLBURN was born about 1842 in New York. His parents were Thomas COLBURN and Julia NILES. By June of 1860, he had married Cornelia HUBBARD and they were living in Oswego, Oswego County, New York. Thomas served from 5 January 1861 to 20 October 1862 at a private in Company B of the 24th New York Volunteer Infantry. He was injured and started to receive a pension on 21 January 1863. He joined the 184th New York Infantry on 1 September 1864 and served until 29 June 1865.
Cornelia was born around 1844 in New York and died before 1866.
By 1866, Thomas had moved to Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He worked in a bakery for a few years. On 12 October 1868, he married Alice O’NEIL. The family moved back to Oswego in 1870, but returned to Toledo in 1873. Thomas would become a confectioner with his own store.
Thomas died around 1881. His widow, Alice, started receiving his civil war pension in January 1882.
Thomas and Cornelia had one daughter, Emma. She was born 4 October 1861 in Oswego. She married Michael CARR on 13 November 1877 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. She also married William LINDSEY and Willis M DAILEY. She died on 9 April 1943 in Toledo and was buried in Forest Cemetery.
